Geer Morton was born in Damariscotta, Maine in 1935, and
began painting as a young man. He went to California where
he focused on a movement of art now known at the San
Francisco School. Morton studied with famous painters Nathan
Oliveira and Richard Diebenkorn at the San Francisco Art
Institute, and later became chairman of the Design
Department and an instructor of Painting and Drawing. Morton
paints in locations in Maine and southern California.
